The Legend

History

Maharaja is made up of two words – Maha, meaning Great, and Raja, meaning King. India was a land of many Maharajas, rulers of their own kingdoms. The sizes of these kingdoms ranged from massive to minute. They were known for their wealth, their opulence, and their extravagance.

Amazing the Eye

The Indian sub-continent is home to hundreds of exquisite palaces and forts that dot the landscape. These palaces were designed to amaze the eye of the beholder.

While Maharajas and their courts have faded into oblivion, their larger than life lifestyle has become a benchmark for the wealthy to emulate. It’s good to be the King!
